IKN Authority Paves the Way for Smart Building Concepts in City Planning
In a significant step towards promoting Nusantara as a smart city, the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority recently hosted an insightful session on smart building concepts. The event, attended by a diverse group of participants, including IKN Authority employees and consultants, delved into the integration of cutting-edge technologies in urban development.
The session, held at the Multipurpose Room of the Coordinating Ministry 1 in the Central Government District (KIPP) on October 22, attracted a crowd of dedicated professionals. Three esteemed speakers, Fajar Santoso Hutahaean from the Public Works Ministry, Yessi Arnaz Ferari from the Communication and Digital Ministry, and Firdaus Kifli from the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN), shared their expertise on the topic.
Agung Indrajit, the IKN Authority's deputy for green and digital transformation, highlighted the pivotal role of technology integration in the development of Nusantara. He emphasized that the city's growth is strategically aligned with global competitiveness through the adoption of intelligent building elements.
Agung further elaborated on the IKN Authority's ongoing efforts to advance urban planning technology using artificial intelligence (AI). This commitment is evident in the implementation of facial recognition technology for residents within the KIPP area.
The smart building concepts being introduced in the IKN are governed by Presidential Regulation No. 63/2022 concerning the IKN Master Plan and further reinforced by the Public Works and Public Housing Minister Regulation No. 10/2023. This comprehensive system serves as the cornerstone for achieving energy efficiency, cybersecurity, and the seamless integration of technology systems across the region.
Fajar, representing the Public Works Ministry, echoed the sentiment by emphasizing the pilot project's potential to revolutionize national energy efficiency. He explained that the smart building concepts are expected to achieve a remarkable 60 percent energy efficiency in Nusantara. Additionally, he underscored the importance of meticulous certification and assessment processes for every service provider involved in the city's development.
Through these initiatives, the IKN Authority is steadfastly committed to creating a city that transcends mere aesthetics, instead prioritizing systemic intelligence, energy efficiency, and digital security. This vision aligns perfectly with Nusantara's aspiration to become Indonesia's city of the future.
